Role: Injection Molding Manager
Industry: Plastic Packaging (Injection Molding)
Location: Lawrence, KS
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To provide guidance to the Tooling Group team members.
- Monitor mold repair and rebuild intervals.
- Submit and approve capital expenses for the Tool Room and mold repairs.
- Monitor efficiency reports and determine areas that require special attention.
- Coordinate with all support groups i.e. Maintenance, Scheduling, Molding, Printing, Thermoform, and etc.
- To oversee policies to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Understand all safety precautions of proper operation of machines and equipment that are used while performing your job duties.
- Oversee the development and training of new employees and direct the employees in their work habits.
- Communicate and engage with vendors and suppliers for the Tool Room and order supplies as needed.
- Troubleshoot problems in the molding process pertaining to the mold.
- Assist in the training of new personnel.
- Assist all Tool Room employees in their repair of molds or equipment.
- Fully understand and utilize the established QSI/ISO, HACCP, AIB, SQF, and GDC procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors Degree preferred. High school diploma/GED equivalent required.
- Prior experience in mold making, industrial tool maintenance, or injection molding.
- Ability to read technical drawings and prints.
- Previous experience with lathes, mills, grinders, etc. is not essential, but highly preferred.
